LED lights require a special device called an LED driver to turn on and operate. The function performed by the LED driver is similar to the function of a ballast for a fluorescent bulb. The driver converts the line voltage into power suitable for LED operation. In addition, since the electrical characteristics of the LED will change with temperature fluctuations, the driver will adjust and maintain a constant amount of current.
What does the LED driver do?
High quality LED driver is mainly used for three purposes:
Most households use 120-277V AC, but LEDs rely on low-voltage DC to work. Therefore, the driver changes a higher voltage AC current to a lower voltage DC current to match the voltage at which the LED lamp needs to work.
The input voltage of the driver must be the same as the voltage required by the driver. Otherwise, voltage changes will cause flicker or flicker.
The common method of controlling the light output of LEDs is through pulse width modulation. When the LED bulb is dimmed, especially at the low end of the light output, it may cause flicker.
Does the LED need a driver?

Is the LED a bad light or a driver?
Here's another tip: If your LED lights are dimming, it could be a driver problem - not the LED!The drive operates at higher internal temperatures, so the LED life can be shortened if the bulb is used in a closed fixture or in a hot garage.The drive may fail before the LED chip's solid state junction fails.This is why leds work better than CFLS at low temperatures.They glow instantly (technically faster than incandescent bulbs), whereas similar CFL bulbs may need dim lighting to warm up to full light output.
